The image below is a composite of a photograph and digitally generated elements:
The photo was taken on a Greek island in the Aegean Sea.
Two different patterns based on the Roseate tile (see the image at right) have been applied to different areas of the sky. The cloudy and hazy regions have been carefully masked off, so that the two areas may be separated.
The upper pattern imposed on the sky is a Fibonacci Spiral centered on the sun. The lower portion has a more subtle crosshatched pattern using the same tile, but with different colors applied.
After the patterns are in place, the chromatized reflection process is applied to the sky and the headland.
The seagull at the top has to be masked off and then removed from the image. It is only reapplied to the final product after everything else is complete.
